Finally got my hands on some proper drums for the farm
Just wanted to share a bit of a win with you all – I've been looking for reliable storage for my olive oil and some pickling brine I make in bulk, and I finally settled on those 50L open-top drums. Honestly, I was going back and forth between plastic and metal ones for ages, but then I stumbled across this supplier called Crateco while browsing for industrial containers, and they had exactly what I was after. The best part is I didn't have to break the bank either, because I found out the 50 ltr drum price was pretty competitive compared to some of the other places I'd checked around Sharjah. They're really solid too, nice thick walls and the lids seal tight which is a lifesaver when you're dealing with liquids that can spoil. I've already filled a couple with the brine and they're holding up great in the heat, no warping or weird smells leaching into the contents. I was half expecting some cheap flimsy thing that would crack after a week, but honestly these are proper heavy-duty ones. If anyone else is on the fence about where to get decent drums for food storage or even just general workshop use, it might be worth giving them a look. I've learned my lesson from buying the really cheap ones off random Facebook ads – never again!
